Listen: McBrearty and Four Masters avoid ‘absolute disaster’

FOUR MASTERS midfielder Kevin McBrearty says that championship relegation for the Donegal town men would have been ‘an absolute disaster’.

Four Masters saved their senior status thanks to a 2-13 to 1-7 win over Malin in Convoy on Saturday night – with Malin now facing Ardara to see who makes the drop to intermediate.

Four Masters fell through the trapdoor to Division 3 in the League, but Saturday’s result saw them survive a second relegation.

“It would have been an absolute disaster to get relegated twice in the one season,” McBrearty, who scored five points, told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“It has been a tough season, getting relegated and everything. We’re just happy to get over the line. It’s great to get it finished up now.

“We’re just thankful to get over the line and win. We’re delighted to wrap it up on a positive note.”
