Gardai are investigating a bizarre incident during which two teenagers knocked on a house and threatened the owners with robbery and violence.

The frightening ordeal happened on Saturday night last at a house at Ture in Muff on the Inishowen Peninsula.

Two teenagers, aged between 16 and 17, knocked on the door of the house around 7pm and then forced their way into the home.

Once inside the youths threw a laptop across the sitting room of the house and then threatened the people inside with violence.

One of the young men was not wearing any clothing on the upper part of his body.

The owner of the house managed to overpower the two youths before throwing them out of the house.

Nobody was physically hurt during the ordeal but those in the house were left very shaken by the ordeal.

It is understood the two young men were spotted earlier in the evening in Buncrana.

Garda Sgt Charlene Anderson said the incident was very frightening for all concerned.

“This was a horrendous ordeal for the people in this house to have their personal belongings thrown across the room and then threatened with violence.

“We would appeal to anybody who knows about this crime to come forward and to help us with our enquiries,” she said.
