Questions have been raised over who has responsibility for repairing the deteriorated road to Falcarragh Community Hospital.
The road used by patients of the public hospital has become riddled with pot-holes and there are calls for its urgent repair.
However, it is not known which authority has the responsibility to carry out the works.
County Councillor Michael Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig told Donegal Daily that he raised the issue with both the HSE and Donegal County Council, but neither has taken responsibility.
The councillor also raised questions about the health and safety issues of the uneven road and of the adjacent footpath.
“Someone needs to step in to fix this road. It is simply bad form to have a road in this condition for people going into a state-run service.
“The council policy of the taking over of roads and responsibility has to be addressed,” Cllr Mac Giolla Easpuig said.
