Gardaí are hunting thieves who smashed their way into a business in Demesne, Raphoe during the night.

The alarm was raised at 4.10am on Tuesday morning when the suspects removed a glass panel and two doors to gain entry to a local business. They then forced their way into the office and attempted to break open the safe.

The suspects did not manage to open the safe and fled the scene empty handed.

Significant damage was caused to numerous windows and doors of the business and gardaí are appealing to the public for information which may help find the suspects.

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 0749167100 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800666111
