THERE MIGHT STILL be some fizz in the Dr Maguire Cup in Glenties but their county champions Naomh Conaill are on the road in the Ulster Club SFC this afternoon.

Martin Regan’s team overcame Gaoth Dobhair, last year’s provincial champions, over a three-game marathon on Wednesday night on an 0-8 to 0-7 scoreline with John O’Malley kicking the winning point.

Today, Naomh Conaill are taking on Castlerahan, the Cavan champions, at Breffni Park, and at half-time are 1-5 to 0-5 in front with Ciaran Thompson grabbing the only goal of the contest thus far on 25 minutes.

Full-time report to follow …
