Listen: Marty Boyle believes momentum carried Naomh Conaill over the line in Cavan

Marty Boyle has been in and out of the Naomh Conaill side of late but his importance seems to be growing the longer the season goes on.

On Sunday, as he had been in the second replay of the Donegal SFC – the 0-8 to 0-7 win over Gaoth Dobhair – Boyle started, was substituted, before being reintroduced to shore up the back line late on in the 1-11 to 0-11 victory in Cavan against Castlerahan.

The 2012 All-Ireland winning medalist believes those three outings against last year’s Donegal and Ulster champions, as well as the one-point win over St Eunan’s domestically in the semi-final, stood to Naomh Conaill as they defeated Casterahan in the Ulster Club SFC quarter-final on Sunday.

Boyle spoke to Charlie Collins afterwards
