Gardaí in Donegal have issued a warning for drivers to be aware of the speed limits when towing a trailer.
The call comes after a motorist was caught outside Buncrana yesterday speeding at 99km/h in a 100km/h zone.
However, the maximum speed limit for a vehicle towing a trailer is 80km/h, and this also applies on roads where the posted road sign speed limit is higher.
The driver, who was stopped on the N13 road from Letterkenny to Derry, will now face a fine.
“Please keep this speed regulation in mind if you tow a trailer regularly,” said Gardaí.
