SHEEPHAVEN SAC conducted its Annual General Meeting for 2019 on Sunday, after which a new committee was elected for the incoming year.

Before all that they got into the water for their weekly snorkel in Portnablagh harbour.

On a very pleasant November morning the Sheephaven club members were joined by a visiting party of divers from Dundalk SAC, who had spent the weekend diving using Portnablagh as their base.

The Sheephaven snorkelers gave a little bit back to society on Sunday when they were deployed into marine-litter picking crews, starting in the harbour and spreading out across the bay, collecting anything that they encountered along the way.

Meanwhile the Dundalk divers put to sea to travel across to the Frenchmans Rock, which lies just off Melmore Head on the eastern side of the bay.

In-water conditions were good, with no swell, 9 degrees Celsius temperature and very good visibility.

After the Sheephaven divers had their breakfast in Lizzies Diner, Dunfanaghy the 2019 Committee members presented their Annual Reports, with the club Chairman thanking everyone for their hard work in delivering a full diving programme, safely and within budget.

The new committee for 2020 was elected as follows Chairman John Joe Rowland, Secretary Kevin Boylan, Treasurer Damien Kelly, Dive Officer Simon Henderson, Training Officer Anne Boyle, Assistant Training Officer Paul McCabe, Boats Timmy Boyle, Buildings Willie Sheridan, Compressor Noel Brennan, PRO Dearn McClintock, Child Liaison Officer Dearn McClintock, Fundraisers, Maureen Gallagher and Hugo McFadden, Offic na Gaelige Hugo McFadden, Entertainment Officer Ryan Ward, Compliance Officer Paddy McGowan, Vice Chairman Timmy Boyle.
