Gardai are investigating a spate of car break-ins while motorists attended mass today.

The break-ins occurred as people attended 9.30am mass at the Church of the Irish Martyrs in Letterkenny.

A total of four cars had their windows smashed in and a number of items were taken from the unattended cars.

Gardai are seeking the occupants of a black Volkswagon Scirocco which was seen in the area at the time.

There were two males on board.

Garda Grainne Doherty has appealed to anybody who seen anything suspicious outside the church between 9.30am and 9.50am to get in touch with Gardai in Letterkenny.

“We would appeal to anybody who seen anything suspicious including this black car to get in touch.”
