OLLIE HORGAN will stay on as Finn Harps manager for at least two more years following an announcement by the club today.
The Galway native – who will have an option of a third season at the end of the 2021 season – managed to keep Harps in the top flight by virtue of a 2-1 aggregate win over Drogheda United in the promotion/relegation play-off. He has been at Harps since 2013, having previously managed Fanad United.
Horgan insists that the club must now move on to the next level, on and off the pitch.
After the announcement, Horgan had praise for the positivity around the club and the commitments made by the board: “It has been very positive after speaking with board members and also people outside the club. There is a great energy and there’s hope that we can kick on now.
“There is a lot of hard work to be put in beyond myself and Paul Hegarty by others behind the scenes. I have high hopes we’re headed in the right direction. We’re used to challenges and we won’t shy away from it”
Finn Harps chairman Sean Quinn remarked: “We are delighted to have confirmed Ollie’s position for at least another two years and I am sure it is welcome news to Harps supporters everywhere. It is now imperative that we all work together to ensure we can offer Ollie and his management team the resources they require for the 2020 season.
“I would appeal to all of those with Harps interests at heart to take an active role in ensuring we can grow our current revenue streams and forthcoming fundraising ventures.”
