A huge number of Donegal’s most talented female musicians will be uniting once again this Sunday for a special ‘Wild Atlantic Women’ Nollaig na mBan concert.

The event in An Grianan Theatre Letterkenny brings the crème de la crème of Donegal musicians to the stage for a female-led fundraiser in aid of Donegal Hospice.

Among the line-up is Altan’s award-winning Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, RTE Radio One’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner Moya Brennan, The Henry Girls and special surprise guests.

The concert, organised by singer Bri Carr, will be a celebration of the strong women of the north west and a unique chance to enjoy performances from a wide range of genres in one night – from folk to country, traditional to modern.

Not only that, but this year’s show will focus on the little Wild Atlantic Women, with young girls and daughters joining a celebration of music through generations.

With Donegal Hospice benefitting from the proceeds of the night, raffle and CD sales, the concert will be in memory of a much-loved young woman from Letterkenny, Fiona Carr, who passed away in 2018. The night will also be keeping a focus on the strength of local people affected by illness.

Nollaig na mBan, taking place on Sunday 5th January at 5pm, promises to be a lively, fun and spellbinding concert for all.
