Motorist caught speeding at 157km/h outside Letterkenny

A motorist was detected speeding 57km/h over the limit outside Letterkenny last night.

Gardaí stopped the car after it was detected travelling at 157km/h on the dual carriageway, where there is a 100km/h limit.

The incident prompted gardaí to issue a warning about speeding, particularly in wet conditions.

“When roads are wet or icy you need to be particularly careful. There is never a good enough reason to travel at such a speed. Protecting your life and the lives of others should be a good enough reason not to!”
