A Ballybofey-based artist is hosting a special auction this weekend in support of a local woman’s cancer support fund. Veronica Maguire, an artist known for her beautiful ink and oil paintings, is offering up one of her works to the highest bidder in aid of her friend Angie Doherty.
Drumboe Woods by Veronica Maguire – auction on Veronica Maguire Artist Facebook Page @VMArtworks
Angie has been having treatment for bowel cancer for the past two years. Now, as she prepares to undergo surgery, her family is running a GoFundMe appeal to help with costs. Amidst local fundraisers, Veronica has made the lovely gesture of donating a piece of artwork for online auction. The painting depicts a local scene from Drumboe Woods, and bidding is well underway on the Veronica Maguire Artist Facebook page. Bidders can comment or private message Veronica with a bid and the highest bid will get her original framed oil painting 25x35cm. Delivery is included. Bidding will run for a week until Tuesday 21st January and Veronica will then announce the highest bid. All proceeds will go to Angie. Alternatively, you can donate to the Angie’s Cancer Battle fund at GoFundMe here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/rfw2u-angie039s-cancer-battle
