Donegal Mountain Rescue volunteers are currently on a lengthy mission to assist two injured hikers on Sliabh Sneachta this afternoon.
A major search was launched at 3pm today after a man and woman suffered injuries in the Derryveagh Mountains.
As night fell, two search parties were formed and took over six hours to reach the couple.
The couple was located before 9pm.
However, the mountain rescue team says it will be another four to five hours before the team and the walkers are safely off the hill.
Difficult weather conditions are said to be hampering the rescue efforts.
Updates to follow.
