St Eunan’s College MacRory Cup tie will double as a fundraiser for Callum Friel

St Eunan’s College’s Danske Bank MacRory Cup Round 2 play-off against Patrician College Carrickmacross will double as a fundraiser for Callum Friel.

The Letterkenny side, who are managed by David O’Herlihy, welcome the Monaghan school on Saturday, February 1st, to O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny and admission with be €5 for adults and €2 for children.

Callum, a 16-year-old sportsman from Dunfanaghy, was diagnosed with leukaemia in September 2018 and suffered a relapse in 2019.

Callum has received treatment at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital and St James’ Hospital in Dublin.

Prior to his diagnosis, Callum played for St Michael’s and Dunfanaghy Youths, while he represented his school, St Eunan’s College and the Donegal Schoolboys League.

Callum has now been referred to receive a bone marrow transplant.

A series of fundraising events have been organised.
