Man arrested in Donegal in terrorism probe

Gardaí arrested a man in East Donegal today as part of a cross-border investigation into paramilitary-style attacks.

The man, aged in his mid-30s, was arrested this Monday morning and is being detained at Letterkenny Garda Station under Section 30 – Offences Against The State Act 1939.

The investigation relates to an incident that occurred in East Donegal in November 2019.

The PSNI’s Terrorism Investigation Unit was also involved in the arrest operation as they conducted a number of searches in the Strabane area.

A 32-year-old male was arrested by police under the Terrorism Act, he is currently being held in Musgrave Serious Crime Suite.

Investigations are continuing.
