Car set alight on village main street

Gardaí are investigating an incident in which a car was set on fire in the East Donegal village of Convoy last weekend.

The attack took place at around 3am in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The car was parked on Main Street at the time when the front window was smashed in and the vehicle was set alight.

Fire services rushed to the scene to tackle the blaze. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Gardaí have issued an appeal in the aftermath of the fire and are calling on members of the public to provide any helpful information. 

Motorists with dashcams or anyone who noticed anything suspicious on that night are being asked to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 9167100 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111
