Election 2020: McConalogue commits to Bonagee Link and Bridge

Fianna Fáil TD Charlie McConalogue says his party is committed to the building of the Bonagee Link and Bridge to end Letterkenny’s transport problems.

McConalogue said that he would make the project an urgent matter if his party are returned to government following next week’s election.

The Donegal Deputy said this vital piece of infrastructure is an absolute must for Letterkenny and Donegal.

“Letterkenny is one of the fastest growing towns in the country and it is being strangled. The infrastructure is lagging behind and needs to catch up quickly. Time and again there is traffic chaos. No town of Letterkenny’s importance should be so vulnerable that one incident can effectively shut it down.”

Deputy McConalogue said roads infrastructure is vital to Donegal and a new Bonagee Link and Bridge would have a massive impact on alleviating the traffic congestion that has blighted Letterkenny over the past number of years.

“Letterkenny needs to breathe and develop and Fianna Fáil, if leading the next government, I will ensure that the Bonagee Link and Bridge is prioritised and built, so that it can thrive into the future,” Deputy McConalogue concluded.
