Seamus Coleman announced as Donegal Sports Star Awards ambassador

Republic of Ireland captain Seamus Coleman has been unveiled as an ambassador of the Donegal Sports Star Awards.

The Killybegs man was announced at tonight’s 2019 Donegal Sports Star Awards function at the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny.

The Everton and Ireland star is represented by family members Henry, Marie and Stephen tonight.

Donegal Sports Star Awards Chairperson Grace Boyle said: “We are so proud of Seamus. He is a Premier League player, the captain of his club and th captain of his country., Semaus represents us so well.”

Coleman described himself as ‘honoured and proud’ to be an ambassador of a function ‘that shows the ‘strong pedigree and calibre of people who represent Donegal with pride’

Coleman said: “Being asked to be an ambassador brings me back to my own early days playing and makes me realise how lucky I was to make it to the top of my sport.

“I wish Donegal Sports Star Awards all the best. The organising committee should take a bow. The supporters and sponsors, Donegal County Council, recognise I cannot stress how important this is.”
