A Donegal motorist was arrested on Sunday after testing positive for drugs.
Gardaí detected the driver in Donegal Town on Sunday night and carried out a drugs test which showed two positive results.
The motorist had opiates and cannabis in their system while driving. The person was subsequently arrested.
Gardaí took to Facebook to plead to motorists to never drink or drug drive.
“Unfortunately this has now become a common occurrence on our roads right across the Division,” a spokesperson said.
“Please never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs! Your life or the lives of others could be wiped out because of one poor decision when it comes to road safety.”
