Listen: Seán Mulkerrin looks ahead to Galway’s trip to Letterkenny

FULL-BACK Seán Mulkerrin says Galway have a new spark under Pádraic Joyce.

Mulkerrin is one of the new faces drafted in for the 2020 campaign. Galway come to Letterkenny on Sunday having won one and lost one of their opening two games.

The Tribesmen were pipped at the post by Kerry on Saturday night.

“We were really disappointed with how things finished in Tralee,” Mulkerrin told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“The way we finished and not seeing it out was disappointing. Kerry showed how good a team they are. It was Division 1 at its finest.”

Mulkerrin has had Conor McManus and David Clifford for company at the edge of the square on the opening two weekends of the new campaign.

Galway, he says, have an attack-minded focus for the year ahead.

He said: “We’re trying to open up a bit more and Pádraic’s style is coming to the table.

“His philosophy is simple: You get the ball and move forward. Instead of going back the ways, we’re pressing a bit higher.

“He is giving everyone the same chance and it’s up to you to take the chance.”
