A man has been sent forward for trial for an alleged assault in Letterkenny in October 2017.
Seamus Cooley appeared at Letterkenny District Court today charged with the alleged attack at Castle Street on October 15th.
Mr Cooley, aged 44, did not speak during the short appearance and was served with a book of evidence in the case.
The court previously advised that media coverage of the case should not include Mr Cooley’s address.
Garda Inspector Michael Harrison told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions had consented for the case to go forward for trial to the current sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court.
Judge Kelly assigned legal aid to solicitor Frank Dorrian and also granted one legal counsel to Mr Cooley for his trial.
