Ba mhaith le Líonra Leitir Ceanainn cuireadh a thabhairt duit chuig Oíche Ghaelach in Óstán Castle Grove ar an Satharn 14 Márta.

Last year’s Oíche Ghaelach in Castle Grove Hotel proved a wonderful success and so Líonra Leitir Ceanainn are now launching tickets for this year’s event. Music will be provided by Coirm – from Ceol na Coille – during the wine reception and after a fabulous meal produced by the team at Castle Grove all will be able to enjoy ceol, craic agus comhluadar accompanied by the wonderful music of  Seán agus Seán Óg Mac Corraidh. Tickets are €35 and must be bought in advance.

For further information and to book your ticket email lionralc@gmail.com or phone 0894218215.

Bunaíodh Líonra Leitir Ceanainn leis an Ghaeilge a spreagadh i Leitir Ceanainn agus níos faide i gcéin. Mar chuid den ról atá acu mar cheann-eagras pleanála teanga, tá sé mar sprioc ag Líonra imeachtaí agus seirbhísí a chur ar fail do gach cuid den phobal. Eagraíonn Líonra imeachtaí teaghlaigh, oícheanta sóisialta agus deiseann chun an teanga a fhoghlaim.

There is a lot happening on the Líonra Leitir Ceanainn calendar this year. The group have been involved in research over the past eighteen months in order to develop a strategic plan to promote Irish in the Letterkenny area. This research has involved the public, young people, businesses and services, using questionnaires, focus groups and public meetings.

A draft of the plan is now ready and Líonra invites all who are interested in the promotion of Irish to join them in a public meeting on Tuesday 10th March at 8pm in Dillon’s Hotel where the plan will be explored and discussed.

This meeting will be in Irish but with a full simultaneous translation service provided. Is é an sprioc atá ag an phleanáil teanga ná lucht labhartha na Gaeilge a mheadú agus buanú a dhéanamh ar úsáid na Gaeilge mar theanga teaghlaigh agus mar theanga pobail.

Líonra will also be offering a range of Irish classes and social opportunities for people to enjoy developing their confidence in Irish over the coming months. There are also Irish language classes running currently in Cara House and the Ciorcal Comhrá which meets in Chill Out Café, Lower Main Street Letterkenny every Saturday at 12 and every Monday at 10.

Líonra will be supporting a Park Run le Gaeilge at the Town Park on 14th March and is hoping to develop a regular meet-up opportunity for families in the coming months. Details of all these will be made available on the Líonra Leitir Ceanainn Facebook page and on the website https://www.lionraleitirceanainn.ie/

Is ócáid na bliana do Ghaeilgeoirí í an Oíche Ghaelach. Tapaigh an deis agus ceannaigh do thicéidí nuair atá siad fós ar fáil!
