Gardai are investigating a break-in to a coffee shop in Newtowncunningham overnight.

Tina’s Teacakes and Coffee House was broken into and a considerable amount of damage caused.

The popular coffee shop remains closed today.

The owner said she was heart-broken but “disgusted” at what had happened.

She wrote on Facebook “I’m absolutely heartbroken to write this but my pride and joy won’t be open for business today and most likely not open tomorrow either in fact the next few days.

“The place I have worked so hard to build up, work tirelessly every hour god sends and make a home from home was destroyed last night when small-minded disgusting people decided to break in, destroy and take what’s not theirs.

“You have no idea how physically sick and heartbroken I am right now. Tina xxx”
