MARK English began his 2020 season with a sixth-placed finish at the Millrose Games last night.

English finished in 1:52.94 and wasn’t in contention in New York.

Reigning World champion Donavan Brazier broke his American indoor record in 1:44.22 – a time that is now the fifth fastest indoor 800m in history.

Bazier ran the final lap in 24.89 seconds.

For English, it was a low-key sort of day as he slipped across the line with a 40.47 final lap.

The Letterkenny man, who is a three-time European medallist, will hope to qualify for this year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo.
