Breaking: Emergency services rush to school after chemical spillage

The fire service and Gardai have rushed to the scene of a chemical spillage at a West Donegal school.

The spillage happened at the laboratory classroom at Rosses Community School in Dungloe.

It is not understood that anybody has been injured in the incident.

The incident happened after 6pm at the school.

A number of fire tenders and Gardai rushed to the scene of the incident.

The school is to remain closed tomorrow (Fri) as the clean-up continues.

Parents were sent a text from the school a short time ago.

The text read “Due to a chemical incident in the lab this evening, school will remain CLOSED tomorrow (FRIDAY) for health and safety reasons. Thank you for your cooperation. School will reopen on Monday 24th February.”
