A remarkable film about the Letterkenny to Burtonport railway line is to be shown this Friday in Letterkenny.
The Burtonport Extension and Its People is a 40-minute film shot by Rathmullan man Arthur Lynch.
The film includes drone footage of the line, interviews with people who worked on the construction of the line as well as those who remembered and traveled on the train.
Among those people interviewed is Bridget Doherty from Crolly who was born in 1915 and remembers her two brothers getting on the train to begin a new life in America.
Although closed 80 years ago, the film also contains original footage.
The film starts at the Station House Hotel at 8pm and admission is free.
