EMERGENCY services have responded to an incident at the Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny.

Two fire appliances are currently at the scene after a serious flood occurred in the building just after 8.30pm this evening.

Structural damage to the facade of the building is visible from outside.

Part of the internal roof area of the reception area can be seen hanging down.

The incident comes the night before the 2020 World Tug of War Championships are due to begin at the venue. It is unclear how the Championships will be affected.

The building was evacuated around 8.45pm, around an hour before it was due to close at 10pm.

There are no reports of any injuries at this time.
