LORETO Milford were ousted from the Danske Bank MacLarnon Cup after a semi-final defeat by St Pius X, Magherafelt last night at Owenbeg.

St Pius X Magherafelt 0-17 Loreto Milford 2-8

Matthew McLaughlin scored a pair of goals to keep the Milford scholars in the game.

The Donegal men still trailed 0-13 to 2-4 but points from Liam McGrenaghan, Ciaran Moore and a Bobby McGettigan equaliser had the game back in the mix again after 55 minutes.

However Darragh Wade slotted over to put St Pius back into the lead and St Pius X remained in command, even after the sending off of Dara Martin – who got a second yellow card haven added two points to his team’s tally.

Joe McElkennon and Conor McAteer added late scores to seal the win.

Ryan Graham, the Milford goalkeeper, made a super save to thwart Shea Coleman midway through the first half.

McLaughlin riffled to the net before half-time to give his side a 1-4 to 0-6 lead.

St Pius X hit seven-in-a-row to take command. McLaughlin’s second three-pointer ignited them somewhat, but they were unable to topple the County Derry men.
