Two more cases of coronavirus COVID-19 have been confirmed in Northern Ireland.
It brings the total number of cases on the island of Ireland to five.
The NI Public Health Agency has announced that two adults were diagnosed with the virus today.
One patient had recently returned from a trip to northern Italy, the centre of the COVID-19 outbreak in Europe. The second person was in contact with someone in the UK who had subsequently tested positive. The two people are not connected to each other.
The first case of coronavirus was confirmed in Northern Ireland six days ago, when a woman returned to Northern Ireland via Dublin from northern Italy.
Chief medical officer Dr Michael McBride said the newly-confirmed cases are receiving “appropriate care”. Health officials are working to identify anyone they had come into contact with.
