AIDAN McAleer hailed a team performance from Scoil Mhuire as they won the Tom Ticher Ulster Under-17 Schools title yesterday.

A Gerry McKinney goal after just six minutes was enough for the Buncrana students to defeat St Eunan’s College at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.

“We were nervous the whole game. We scored early and it was a long 80 minutes after that,” McAleer told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“We played well. We defended well when we had to and we led the line when we had to. It was a real team performance.

“They used their experience and they defended like man. They were very disciplined.”
