Listen: Mickey McCann looks ahead to Division 3A final

DONEGAL hurlers face Armagh in Sunday’s Division 3A final with the big prize of promotion to Division 2B on offer at Carrickmore.

Donegal were relegated from Division 2B last spring, but can make an immediate return again this weekend.

“I think there is a performance in this team. It’ll take a big performance,” Donegal manager Mickey McCann told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“Armagh were in Division 2A a few seasons ago. They’ll be dying to get up again. It’ll not be easy.”

A largely new-look Donegal have been on a good run of form with four wins in a row after an opening day loss to Armagh, Sunday’s opponents, in Letterkenny.

In eight weeks’ time, Donegal will also meet Armagh in the opening round of the 2020 Nicky Rackard Cup.

McCann said: “We were very poor the first day out. We missed a lot of chances. We’ll go out to redeem that on Sunday.

“After 53 minutes, we were two points up before the goals. Armagh are very sharp up front. They have quality players who have played in the higher division, but I feel our defence has got a lot stronger since the first game.”
