THREE Donegal boxers were celebrating glory at the 2020 Irish Athletic Third-level Boxing Association (IATBA) Championships.
Bryan McNamee (pictured above), Matthew McCole and Rosemary Doherty were toasted victories in their respective grades at the National Stadium in Dublin,
McCole, who missed out on an Ulster Elite crown a couple of weeks ago, won the welterweight title.
The Illies Golden Gloves man, represented Letterkenny Institute of Technology, overcame Terry McEntee from DCU. McCole took a unanimous decision win.
Convoy ABC’s McNamee, also a student at LyIT, defeated Eunan McConnell (University of Ulster) in the middleweight final.
Carndonagh native Doherty, now boxing for St Francis in Limerick, saw off Dawn Byrne in the women’s welterweight final. Doherty is a student at University of Limerick.
It’s a hat-trick of titles recently for Doherty, who also won Irish Senior and Ulster Elite titles.
