The Irish Cancer Society has announced that all Daffodil Day events will be called off this year due to COVID-19.
The annual fundraising event had been scheduled for 27th March 2020.
Each year, street collections and themed events raise crucial funds for supports for cancer patients and lifesaving cancer research.
CEO of the Irish Cancer Society Averil Power said the decision to cancel has been made “to protect the health and wellbeing of our patients, volunteers and supporters.”
“We also want to focus all our energies on providing cancer patients and their families with the information, advice and support they need at this time,” Ms Power concluded.
