Snow and wintry showers are set to return to Ireland this week following a brief period of mild weather.
Temperatures are due to take a dramatic dip in the coming days, bringing snow showers and freezing conditions back to many parts of the country.
Met Eireann is forecasting lows of -1C on Wednesday night and “scattered wintry showers overnight with snow in parts.” There will also be a risk of frost and ice.
The cold weather will continue over the rest of the week, with further snowfall forecast on Thursday. The worst of the winter weather will affect areas of high ground.
Meanwhile, a weather advisory continues for Donegal today due to heavy rainfall and risks of spot flooding.
