THE Denis Dunne Pairs Memorial Cup took place at the CYMS Snooker Club on Wednesday night.

Pairs were randomly drawn from a pool of high and low handicappers and the knockout system of the best of three frames went well.

CYMS club chairman Mr Con McLaughlin congratulated Ken Kirwan and Tommy McLaughlin who played Paul Gallagher and Hugh McClafferty on reaching the final of this prestigious competition and wished both teams well.

Tactics was the strategy of the night, Tommy and Hugh playing cautious but at times coming in with some really good quality potting, while Ken and Paul created some fine scoring from difficult positions.

The night was to be for Paul and Hugh winning by two games to nil.

Con once again complimented both teams at the presentation of the Cup and Trophies.

Thanks went also to Mark McCarron for his forward thinking and organising this and future events for this year.

CYMS is always open for new members.
