Dancing with the Stars semi-final to be held without audience

Donegal star Grainne Gallanagh will be putting her best foot forward in a unique episode of RTE’s Dancing with the Stars this Sunday.

The Buncrana nurse has made it to the semi-final of the contest, but it will be held behind closed doors this week due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Live recording will continue while the show takes place without a live audience as producers observe a government ban of over 100 people at indoor gatherings.

Grainne and her dance partner Kai Widdrington will be performing a Foxtrot in their bid to secure a place in the grand final.

Just four stars remain in the 2020 series – Lottie Ryan, Aidan Fogarty, Gráinne Gallanagh and Ryan Andrews.

With more people expected to tune in from home this Sunday, Grainne’s support team will be working harder than ever to urge people to cast their votes and ‘Get The Glitterball To Donegal’.

Dancing with the Stars airs at 6.30pm Sunday, RTÉ One
