A Donegal community came together this week to help a local couple with the near-impossible task of finding a wedding ring on a beach.
An urgent appeal was launched in Mountcharles on Wednesday after local man Patrick Faherty lost his wedding ring while picking mussels.
The gold ring has huge sentimental value, as it has been in the family for a long time.
Patrick’s wife Pauline took to social media to call on the community to help in any way they can, and she was overwhelmed by the response. The couple received many offers of support and encouragement.
William Gallagher and Kieran Donagher from North West Salvage came to the rescue this morning with their high powered metal detectors. The search was a success, as the gold ring was located!
Patrick and Pauline have issued a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped out.
“Thanks to Pauric, Tom and the boys who were ready to search and to my daughter Christina for all their help. It has restored my faith in mankind,” said Pauline.
“Never give up hope.”
