Social-distancing cat stuck in tree for three days

A Letterkenny cat seems to have taken the social distancing rule too literally and has now become stuck in a tree.

An emergency appeal has been launched to find a way to bring the cat down after its three and a half day ordeal. The cat was first reported in the 50ft tree on New Line Road earlier this week. But efforts to coax it down have failed.

A spokesperson for Animals in Need Donegal said they hope that Donegal Fire Service can assist later today. Concerns are growing for the cat as it has spend three cold nights in the tree.

Anyone who can assist is asked to contact the Animals In Need Donegal page.

Meanwhile, another pet has decided to ignore all isolation rules and paid a visit to Letterkenny Garda Station. The dog wandered into the station on Wednesday. She has no collar.

Gardaí gave their new guest a bed and food for the night, but they are appealing for her owner to get in touch and bail her out. Please call the station on +353 74 9167100
