Watch: Donegal student shares vital messages with Covid-19 song

A Donegal student is hitting all the right notes with her new cover song themed on coronavirus prevention.

Aoife Sweeney from Fanad has put her own lyrics to a hit song by The Script to share important guidelines on social distancing and isolation.

The topical song was inspired by the #CreateDontContaminate challenge on RTE2FM, where people all over the country are encouraged to tap into their creative sides to encourage young people to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Aoife’s cover of “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” has already become a hit, with thousands of views on Facebook.

The 20-year-old teaching student said she researched the news and HSE guidelines to change the lyrics for an inspirational message.

“When one day it’s all over we’ll look back and we’ll be proud of how we came together to save friends and family.”

The response, she said, has been hugely positive and she is hoping that more people will take note of the lyrics – and that The Script band members may see it too.
