Gardai have issued a new appeal following a raid on an elderly woman’s home in Burnfoot.
A sizeable sum of cash was taken when two men broke into the woman’s home at Magherabeg near Inch Island on August 11th last.
The men ransacked the woman’s house while she was upstairs.
The money was contained in an old leather purse which may have been discarded around the area.
Garda Sgt Paul Wallace issued a new appeal on the burglary saying there is a feeling that there may be a local involvement in the crime.
He appealed to anybody who was in the area at the time to contact them.
They particularly want to hear from anybody who seen two men wearing checked shirts in the locality at the time of the raid.
