DONEGAL’S confirmed number of Covid-19 cases has risen by 25 per cent, according to the latest HSE figures.

Health officials reported an additional 302 positive cases today.

Across the Republic of Ireland, there are now 2,121 positive cases.

The number in Donegal has gone up from 12 to 15 since yesterday’s figures were released by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC).

The first Covid-19 related death in the north-west was confirmed today.

Nationally, three new deaths bring the total number of deaths to 22.

An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, has predicted that intensive care units will be at their capacity ‘in a number of days’.

There are currently 59 patients in intensive care units in Ireland who are severely ill from the Covid-19 virus.
