Waste companies across Donegal have pleaded with the public to make sure their bins are disinfected.

One such company, Glenties-based Donegal Waste, sent a text to clients asking them to help their collectors during the Covid 19 crisis.

The text read “Donegal Waste Covid 19 Alert. Collection as normal. Have bins out the night before to ensure collection.

“Disinfect all bin handles before collection. Stay safe, stay home.”

All other waste collectors are understood to be operating as normal but people are advised to contact their own collector.
