People across Donegal and the rest of the country are being asked to shine a light in the middle of the Covid-19 crisis on Easter Saturday.

The Government has announced the initiative asking everyone to shine a light for all the sick, our frontline workers and anyone affected by Covid-19.

Families, creative groups and media are all asked to take part in the planned event which will take place at 9pm on 11 April.

Public buildings and Irish embassies will be lit up in solidarity.

Further details are expected to be released shortly.
