Two drivers were halted by Gardaí yesterday after being detected for road traffic offences.
The first incident related to reports of a car driving dangerously in and around Ballybofey. Concerned members of the public had contacted gardaí, who subsequently located the suspect car and seized the vehicle.
Gardaí also caught a disqualified driver in the town later on Friday.
Investigations are set to take place in both cases, while Covid-19 checkpoints are continuing across the country to stop non-essential travel.
“Safety on our roads is as important as it ever was,” said a garda spokesperson.
“Gardaí are out on the roads day and night and any breaches of road traffic laws will be dealt with accordingly.”
