Five new cases of coronavirus Covid-19 have been confirmed in Donegal, the Department of Health has announced.
The total number of cases in the county is now 125.
A further 28 people who were diagnosed with Covid-19 have died in Ireland in the past day.
The death toll is now 267.
500 more cases have been confirmed nationwide – marking the highest jump in daily case figures to date. The total number of cases in Ireland stands at 6,574.
Earlier today, Fianna Fail leader Micheál Martin announced that 51,000 people are waiting for COVID-19 testing in Ireland. He added that 53,000 tests have taken place so far, but significant work needs to be done on the testing front.
