Pet owners across Donegal are being asked to clean up their act due to a rise in dog fouling during the Covid-19 lockdown.
There has been a noticeable increase in dog mess on footpaths in local towns as more people take their exercise in public areas.
The disgusting and dangerous issue has led authorities to plead with dog owners to act responsibly.
Donegal County Council is reminding the public of the “Any Bag, Any Bin”.
“If you are a dog owner, please remember it’s your responsibility to clean up after it,” the notice said.
“The Council is asking all dog owners to clean up any dog foul, to use any bag and any bin. Let’s work together to keep our local Community clean. ”
Gardaí have also reinforced the warning and said “Please clean up after your pet whilst out walking and keep the footpaths clean!”
