Award-winning Donegal hair stylist Patrick Gildea has launched a novel challenge for people at home during the Covid-19 isolation period.

With hair salons closed, some people have taken matters into their own hands and tried to cut their own hair or give family members a trim. Meanwhile, more and more men have gone all-out and reached for the razor for new shaved look.

Patrick Gildea, owner of the Patrick Gildea Centre of Excellence in Letterkenny, has come to the rescue of anyone struggling with unruly hairdos and tempted to get cutting.

In a step-by-step video, he has shared a guide on how to cut long hair at home.

The basic one length trim guide is intended to tide people over until they get a true professional salon experience.

Anyone who gives it a go will be in with a chance of winning an amazing prize.

Patrick is giving away a free cut and colour by himself, along with a full makeup look in the Patrick Gildea Allure beauty salon when the business reopens.

All you have to do to enter for a chance to win the voucher is attempt the challenge and post a photo or a short video (no more than 30 seconds) to the comments of his Facebook post below.
