Donegal fans get a chance to relive 2012 triumph this afternoon

DONEGAL fans are in for a real Easter Sunday treat and a chance to relive one of the county’s greatest hours.

TG4 are showing a re-run of the 2012 All-Ireland SFC final when Donegal defeated Mayo.

The game is being showing in its entirely from 3.25pm this afternoon.

It’s almost eight years since that famous September Sunday when Jim McGuinness’s troops won 2-11 to 0-13.

Michael Murphy’s early goal set Donegal on their way and Colm McFadden followed up with a second goal.

Murphy clasped hands on Sam Maguire as Donegal won their second All-Ireland, a first since 1992 and it was party mode in Tir Chonaill.

Football fans have been starved of action since the sporting world went into shutdown, but this will come as a pretty good substitute!
