DONEGAL Gardaí seized a vehicle this morning after detecting that the tax expired over 11 YEARS ago.

Gardaí stopped a jeep near Ballyshannon this morning.

A check showed that the tax was expired for 4,089 days – since January 2009.

Officers impounded the vehicle and further proceedings will follow.

“We understand that some matters cannot be dealt with at the moment but this is just not acceptable,” Gardaí said.

“Please ensure that your car is taxed and insured and in a roadworthy condition before taking to the roads.”
